Just an update to a previous outstanding issue: King Soopers replaced the Amazon gift card in full and I have confirmed that it works. I hope that they got their money back from Amazon.
Unfortunately, while the incident has soured me a little on Amazon (what with their lack of help or information), they still have decent selection and prices and I will probably continue to shop with them. I might be a little more open to alternatives.
Other than the fact that no one ever called me back from King Soopers to let me know to stop by and pick up a new gift card, I can’t complain about their service on the issue at all.
Now, I’m just wondering how a physical gift card that I have in my possession doesn’t exist. Maybe time travel does exist. I’ll try again in a year.
Brooklynn is no longer the youngest of her cousins. Dalon and Lynn had a baby boy yesterday, Bennett Thomas (I haven’t seen it written, so I could be wrong on the spelling). Update: This is the right spelling.
From what we’ve heard, everyone is doing well. We’re planning on visiting them next week so I’ll have a little more (and most likely pictures) then.
Brooklynn’s run as the baby came to an end at just a little under eight months, or not really long enough for to be excited to see a new kid at all. She does seem to like babies though, so hopefully she enjoys the upcoming travel.
You may think that having something like this in the house is a product of being parents and buying fun things for the baby, but you would be mistaken.
We ran out of hand soap in our guest bathroom and moved the bottle that was next to my sink in the bathroom, leaving me soapless. Last weekend, while standing in next to the shelves of soap in Target, Rhiannon asked me what kind I wanted.
Now, there are way too many options, but I knew that I didn’t want anything with fish or flowers or anything. Something simple, modern, and understated would do nicely.
And then I saw the SpongeBob bottle. Decision making process over.
I will admit that she is not standing completely on her own, but she will balance on her own every once in while. She likes to stand to the point that she will go from laying to standing when pulled up by her hands. At this rate, I think we may have the first baby to be able to walk but unable to move or get back up if she ever falls down.
The real question is do you think that she’ll be able to work a lawn mower come summer time?
The best thing I heard today: “That’s all we need. Let me help you out to the car.” – said by the nurse as Brooklynn was discharged from the hospital and we headed home.
The second best thing I heard today: The sound of ice in the freezer’s ice maker a few minutes after we walked into the house. The fridge is working again. Maybe it was the expired food I got rid of. Maybe it was the dust I blew off of the compressor coils the last time I was home. We’ll keep an eye on it, but I’ll take it.
The bad: All of the nasty meat juice and frozen veggie pieces that fell to the bottom of the freezer when it thawed are now frozen solid in one mass on the bottom. Hopefully it will all come out in one big piece and we don’t have to defrost again to clean it.
