on her own two feet

I will admit that she is not standing completely on her own, but she will balance on her own every once in while. She likes to stand to the point that she will go from laying to standing when pulled up by her hands. At this rate, I think we may have the first baby to be able to walk but unable to move or get back up if she ever falls down.

The real question is do you think that she’ll be able to work a lawn mower come summer time?

a year in review

Somehow, it doesn’t seem all that long ago that we found out our tiny Beta was a girl, but all of a sudden we have found ourselves housing a 19-pound behemoth of a baby girl. Luckily for her, her cheeks are cute enough that we decided to keep her.

From food to a baby to a finished basement, this past year had a little bit of everything.

interview with a baby

Maybe not quite as dramatic as with a vampire, but I think it’s about as informative.  And yes, this is what I do in my free time. Exciting, I know.

…and the little one said, “roll over”

A lot of times you hear about a baby or small child doing something for the first time – taking steps, saying words, rolling over, etc. And then you hear how they will do it over and over but never in front of a camera.  Lucky for us, Brooklynn didn’t notice I was filming her.

Below – the first time she ever rolled over. Considering she already doesn’t like to lay on her stomach, this should be interesting to watch as she gets older.

smarter than a 6th grader

When I was in school, I was good at math. I’d dare say (at the risk of coming off a little egotistical) I was really good at math.

How things change…

8 * 6 = 48, not 64.  That only took me about 7 seconds, or over 10% of my allotted time.  In my defense, the students only have to get a 70% to pass, so I was being held to a higher standard. Something about Rhiannon remembering how I think I’m good at this sort of stuff or something…
