We took Brooklynn out today for her one month checkup at the doctor. Officially she is 22.5 inches and 10 pounds, 8 ounces, which puts her in the 90th percentile for length and 75th for weight. Technically, at that scale weight, she's more like 82nd percentile range, but we threw away a few ounces in a diaper after weighing her, so the doctor dropped it down just a little. Something about the doctor's offiice brings out the bowel movements in our child as she is three for three so far. Today was also the first shot since we came from the hospital, and even though we think Brooklynn is quite plump, the nurse commented that her thighs are so skinny there was hardly a place for the needle to go. I thought are we looking at the same child, because I see a chunker who can give burning arms and shoulders inside of ten minutes.
Now we don't have another appointment for a whole month, which means no official type person will look at her for over four weeks. They are actually going to trust us with a small child for 30 days without checking in.
I still say this country is a little crazy.
