things are changing

I never realized how squirmy a brand new child could be.  Considering they have absolutely no motor skills, fine or otherwise, babies put up a pretty good fight. Brooklynn loves to kick her feet while she eats which has the unfortunate side effect of pushing her away from her food source, which makes her kick even more in displeasure.  It's a viscous cycle.

While she is a wiggle-worm when awake, she also sleeps like a zombie.  She slept through blood-sugar testing that involved pricking her heel in the hospital.  She sleeps through saxophone playing from the basement and handling from many people.

She also falls asleep during feeding, even when she is completely undressed and tickled.  It's kind of a "I don't care what you do, I need to rest, right no..."  and she is gone for a while.

For the most part, she is easy enough to comfort, but sometimes you have to finish the things that make her unhappy.  Like, putting on clothes.  I have no idea why a diaper and a wrapped blanket isn't enough.  I think baby clothes are just an evil invention meant to make moms and extended family spend money and frustrate new fathers.
