boston - day 1

News flash - it's late at night, once again. We had a great first day in Boston - weather and activities. The Boston Celtics won the NBA championship on Tuesday and had their rolling rally today as a victory parade through the streets of Boston.

We toured Fenway Park. The tour itself wasn't quite as impressive as the tour of Yankee stadium. We never got near the field, much less in the home team dugout, but it does look a little better in photos.

While over in the neigborhood of Fenway, we also stopped at the Berklee College of Music. Mike starts his saxaphone workshops tomorrow - I think he's pretty excited about that and the city itself.

We went up into the North End neighborhood this evening. Between the laid back atmosphere and all the restaurants, bakeries, and waterfront, it's a place we could definitely stay in for a while.

There is a place called Mike's Pastry in this area that was recommended to us - specifically, the Lobster Tail. I know, lobster tail from a pastry shop. I doesn't sound quite right to me either. But it looks like one and given the choice between real lobster tail and the pastry form, I can't say which I would prefer.

Mike seemed to enjoy it as well.
