The weekend is here again. After a long, hard week at work (Rhiannon works hard at least), sometimes we like to relax with a little sweet food, often a little ice cream. We vary our toppings, sometimes chocolate, sometimes caramel and peanuts, sometimes different flavors of ice cream, and sometimes we even go with Oreos and mint toppings.
We don’t usually have the maraschino cherry on top, but a few of these variations closely resemble an ice cream sundae. I’ve done a little research of the history of the sundae, and every conflicting account has one thing in common – the dish was created on a Sunday and that is where the name came from.
If that is the case, why is it spelled sundae?
