1 Through 6 Is Like Kissing Your Sister

Yesterday I talked about the fact that Rhiannon and I are not ready to have children yet. Last night, we covered some major ground in preparing for a child. We finished watching the third new Star Wars movie, Revenge of the Sith. As it was ending, I asked the question I’m sure has been asked before. What order do you have your children watch the Star Wars movies in? Do they watch in order, 1 through 6, or watch 4-6 and then 1-3 like so many people did? Rhiannon thinks that watching them 1 through 6 would be best. As we watched Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin “Darth Vader” Skywalker dueling it out in the end of the third movie, we knew that both of them would live. And Padme having *gasp* twins? Well, we sure never saw that one coming.

As someone who was (and still is) kind of a nerd, I read my fair share of Star Wars books when I was younger, so I had a general idea of what was going to happen in these movies anyway. I don’t think it lessened them any. I also think it would be odd to see the effects included in the recent movies and then go back to technology of the original three movies.

These are good reasons that support my point of view. Rhiannon remained unconvinced, so I had to pull the trump card. If you know that Luke and Leia are twins – when she kisses him instead of Han Solo, instead of thinking it was funny/cool, all you’re going to be thinking is she just kissed her brother. And that’s not cool in anyone’s book. Case closed.
